How do I Complete Math Homework Correctly?
Students will complete about 90% of all homework online using their textbook website. All students will receive a printout that will provide parents with information for getting their students online. Students will be provided with a username and password. This website can also be accessed from our classroom website.
Students can expect to have daily homework assignments to practice and become more efficient with the new skills they are learning in class. Students will be given two types of math homework. The first assignment is the Daily Assignment which will review the current day’s topic. This assignment will consists of about 20 questions. The student’s grade will be available the following day on the database, and in some cases the student will receive a grade once they submit the assignment. This will allow me to promptly provide your student with support when needed. These Daily Assignments will be due the following day they are assigned – unless otherwise stated on the Student Database or Homework Posting on the classroom website.
The second assignment is the Spiral Review and/or Enrichment Assignment of about 50 questions that will be due at the end of the school day each Friday. Students should answer about 10 questions each day so they are not overwhelmed at the last minute. The purpose of this assignment is to review a wide variety of topics, including those that the student has struggled to correctly answer.
Homework is assigned only as an important reinforcement to the “learnpracticeapply” knowledge cycle. Zeros (0) should not be acceptable since this indicates that a critical step in the process was not completed by the student. Therefore, every effort should be made to ensure that students consistently complete all assignments.
